Andrew had to work on Thanksgiving so I went to my mom's and helped her cook dinner (that is my FAVORITE thing, cooking dinner with my mom. We have so much fun together while we cook!) Then the day after Thanksgiving we went with Andrew's family to get Christmas trees, it was nice to have most of his family there. Andrew's brother and his family from Colorado were here for Thanksgiving so it was nice to be able to catch up with them.
Then we had a Christmas slumber party at my mom's house. All the kids were able to be there so it was nice. Andrew and my dad went ice fishing up Birch Creek and did pretty good. They had a good time. We played games and watched movies together. We made ginger bread houses. The grandkids played out the Nativity, and did a great job at it. The next day we all went to church with my mom and dad and enjoyed a wonderful Sunday dinner with the family.
Laurie, Amy, Angie and I were able to go to the Tabernacle Choir and David Archuleta concert.
Before we went to the concert we went and ate at
The food was wonderful, we called ahead to get a reservation and it was a good thing or else we wouldn't have made it to the concert on time. After we ate we were trying to get to the parking garage where we had free parking and it seriously took us almost 20 minutes to go 2 blocks. There were sooooo many people. We finally let Amy and Angie out to go stand in line while Laurie and I went and parked the car. We got the car parked and poor Laurie had broken her toe the day before but she was a trooper and she just booked it to the conference center. There were so many people standing outside waiting to see if there would be any seats left. I can't imagine standing outside waiting just in case. Well the drive and the wait was well worth it. The concert was wonderful. I love Christmas music and David has a smile that could melt anyone's heart. We were able to sit on the bottom level in the first section of seats at the back. So we were able to see David up close! He honestly has a sparkle in his eye. I loved to hear him sing.
We spent Christmas Eve with Andrew's family. We went sledding and had a great time. Laurie, Amy, Tessa and I all got on the sled and Casey took us around Diamondville, we only fell off 4 or 5 times LOL it was really fun though. Then we had dinner and read one of our favorite Christmas stories. Which was really nice. After it got darker and colder we all loaded up on the trailer and Paul took us around to look at all the Christmas lights then we sang at a couple of houses and by that time the kids were frozen and ready for bed. Definitely a memory!
Then Christmas day we were able to do our own little Christmas that morning and then we headed over to my mom's house for the day. We had breakfast and just hung out getting dinner ready waiting for Justice to call from Hawaii. All of my brothers and sister were able to be there to talk to him so that was fun. He is doing great enjoying the warm weather but missing his snow machine. He told us it was 75 degrees and he was sitting on his balcony in a shirt and shorts basking in the sun. All I have to say is I am going to Hawaii in 2012!
After we talked to him we opened our presents and watched the kids open their presents then we had dinner and went and visited my grandpa and great grandma. I am so grateful for such wonderful family. I love spending time with all of them, we are truly blessed.
For Christmas Andrew got me furniture for my front room upstairs. I was thrilled, well I picked it out but I am just so excited to finally have furniture upstairs.
There is a lot that I still need to do to this room but it is getting closer!
Andrew got a fish finder for ice fishing and lots of other little things. Andrew got me some wool socks with batteries so my feet won't freeze when we go ice fishing or hunting and a really cute sweater that I loved.
